Summary

Through its AXA Research Fund, AXA wishes to encourage and support long-term research at the CRG relating to major changes in modern-day society and the associated risks.  Grounded on the CRG expertise, the AXA Chair project integrates molecular, cellular, computational and systems biology approaches in model organisms and human pathologies to study the genetic, epigenetic and stochastic determinants of risk prediction for age-related diseases, with the ultimate goal of developing new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. This long run Endowed Visiting Chair foresees the appointment of successive researchers as Chair Holder every three to four years, following an international and competitive selection process adhering to the highest international standards of scientific excellence.  Therefore, the AXA Chair represents a unique opportunity to attract top talents and further enhance the promotion of excellence at the CRG and AXA in frontier research in the area of personalized medicine.
